SUPERMAN

Talk to me,
There is something I want to tell you,
Just like you,
I have been into a lot of pains too
and I’m still very much in it

Somehow people would look at me,
like I am Superman to them
A hero, a man of steel,
steadfast and unwavering
But you now what?
Even Superman sometimes
bears the pain of being exposed
to Kryptonite

Clearly,
he has his limits and weaknesses,
and he is not real
He is just an imagination
His power emanated
from an elusive thought
of a finite being

Now, think of this
The joy of helping and saving people
entails a lot of sacrifices,
perseverance,
firm hope that is being edified
by the will to stand
under the weight of truth
and righteousness

It is a little odd to stay happy
when you are sad
To keep loving
when your heart is weeping so bad
To stay alive
when you are bleeding to death
and to become even stronger
when you are weak

Nevertheless all of these are possible
Maybe it’s difficult to grasp,
but it’s achievable,
Don’t tell me its fantasy
No, it is not
It is not all about Superman,
Its about belief!

Something that would make us realize,
that we are humans,
and we are not limitless
There is somebody up there,
who is greater than us
More powerful than those
who created Superman
His power is immeasurable!
And no amount of Kryptonite
could lessen His might

If we will only believe in Him
That somebody can make us invincible,
deeply rooted and immovable
Just listen to him
Go back at his reproof
and look at the deeper meaning of life

Remember,
don’t let the pain kill you
Don’t let it turn you into a monster
and don’t make a fool out of yourself
But rather,
use these hardships to bring out
the best in you!
If God is with us,
who is against us!?

Before I go,
I want you to know
that I am not Superman
but I am…
